The magic of the Southern Lights

This image was captured near Port Fairy in Victoria looking over the craggy coast and the southern ocean. 

Ive decided to make there’s prints as an affordable option by doing so i’ve made more copies of this image available while its still making them limited edition.

What creates the Southern and Northern Lights

The famous Northern and Southern Lights -- Aurora Borealis and Aurora Australis for those Latin lovers among us -- are caused by high-energy particles from the Sun cascading down on Earth. As they near our planet, they interact with Earth's magnetic field, which channels them toward the north and south magnetic poles.
